a.k.a "Sheldon"
CANADA'S #1 HOUND FOR 2017 AND #11 OF ALL-BREEDS, 2015 #1 BORZOI IN THE USA, DN ALL-BREED SYSTEM
"Sheldon" sadly passed away in early February 2019 after a short battle with hemangiosarcoma. Far too young, our hearts are absolutely broken. He was a shining light and will never be forgotten.
"Sheldon" is our resident over achiever. Career highlights include being the #1 Hound and #11 of All-Breeds in Canada for 2017 with a much lighter schedule than the rest of the Top 15 All-Breed dogs, he was presented beautifully in Canada by Shannon Scheer and Alana Smith. He was the USA #1 All-Breed Borzoi for 2015 by the DN system and #2 breed points by all systems, most wins that year coming before his third birthday. He proves that handsome is as handsome does and is an All-Breed Best in Field winner with 10 points and both majors on his Field Championship in limited trialing. He earned his RN with two firsts and a second. At the 2016 National he was 2nd in a huge Triathlon entry. "Sheldon" is the winner of 8 Canadian All-Breed Bests in Show, and a number of Reserve Bests in Show (3 of which were in the USA). He was BIS at Canada's largest show, Alberta KC. He won his first BISS at the Lonestar Borzoi Club before his second birthday in an entry of 72 under hound authority Gene Blake. He was BOS just after his 2nd birthday at the 2014 BCNC specialty in an entry of 86 under Dr. Jim Sillers of Seabury fame, the weekend of the International Borzoi Conference and was BOB the day before at the TSE, defeating an extremely competitive group of hounds. He was BOS at the Midwest Borzoi Club specialty the day after the National in 2015 under Lisa Warren, entry of 110. He won multiple Hound Shows in Canada. His first weekend out after coming home from Canada, he took both hotly contested Breeds at the Hound Classic and went on to a Group 2 in one of the year's most competitive Hound Groups (500+ hounds entered). He has two BCOA National Specialty AOM wins, the first at only 18 months of age. He has proven himself a good sire with champion offspring, including the #1 Borzoi in Brazil for 2017. He has his CHIC number with all Normal results and is also the sire of CHIC Normal offspring.
What more can we say? He has blown us away and we are so grateful that he is with us. His incredible balance, total soundness, and lovely type have been recognized over and over by judges from all over the world. His personality is well known, a total jokester but a sweetheart all in one.. He is bred by and co owned with Roni and Jennifer Zucker, co bred by Karen Roberson, and owned by Justine Spiers, Stuart McGraw, and Ken Cook. Full dentition, scissors bite. Frozen semen available.
